I still remember years back when I first began to play tennis, the end you heard the most was 'keep your mind still.' My father used to say this if you ask me at least 50 times a round. He thought he was doing me a favor, when really, he must have been telling me to accomplish the exact opposite. He should have been saying 'move your face just a little on your way back.'

Why move your head as you take the team straight back? Because in-order to swing in a circular movement you require an axis to swing around you want to move your mind. An axis has a top and a bottom. When you put in place to the baseball, you've 1 top to an axis (your head) and 2 bottoms (your feet) and legs to an axis. This means that on your way back your head should be moving 3 - 5 inches to the best so as to build your first axis to swing around. Your face will remain there as you drop and fall even further straight back through impact. Then, following the ball has been hit, your mind will progress over top of the left knee to make a second axis. This 2nd axis enables you to complete the circular turn in your golf swing allowing you to finish your swing. So what you've is really a floating top to an axis. Your mind floats back and forth to make 2 axis if you swing. This enables you to move in a circular motion. It is not just a perfect circle however. It is a small oval. Because your swing is a slight square, you'll never hit the-ball a century ideal.

The only real time you would keep your head still is if you had one leg. To explore additional information, please view at: lionelmessibdx on Genius. If you'd one leg, you would have 1 top and 1 bottom to an axis. This means that if you moved your face you would destroy this axis. Therefore perhaps we should all be playing keeping our mind still and looking at one knee? However, this will never work because you will not produce enough power and you'll probably fall over. Most people have enough trouble keeping their balance with 2 legs never mind 1 so it is best that you learn how to move your face and keep both legs on the floor.

Most people I teach attempt to move their head when I tell them to but they have difficulty really doing it because it seems so miserable for them to move their head. If you do, you'll hit the ball completely and with a whole lot more power than you're used to.

Until the next time,

John Wilson.
